Dr. Jackson joined Penn State University in the fall of 1992 after working for twelve years at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. Dr. Jackson is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a member of the American Vacuum Society, the Electrochemical Society, the Materials Society, and the Society for Information Display.

Exploratory electronic devices and microfabrication techniques. Thin film electronics, organic semiconductors, oxide semiconductors, biomolecular motors, biodevices, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and display technology.
