1. Completed Graduate School Application -- Select University Park  (UP) as the campus location.
2. Non-refundable application fee ($45 U.S.)
3. Official Scores (verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing) from the Graduate Record Examination General Test (GRE).

4. All international applicants whose first language is not English must submit a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score. A TOEFL score of 600 on the paper test or a score of 250 on the computer-based test is required for admission. Applicants who are submitting the new Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT)  must achieve a minimum cumulative score of 80 on all four sections (reading, listening, speaking, and writing) and a minimum score of 23 on the speaking section.  Submit scores to Institution Code 2660, Department Code 66
5. Two official transcripts from each institution attended
6. Statement of Purpose (a description of relevant experiences, technical interests, and the proposed field of study)
7. Three (3) letters of recommendation
8. Completed Electrical Engineering Department Supplemental Application

1. Applicants should hold a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields such that any preparatory studies would take no more than one semester. Students with a minimum junior/senior grade-point average of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or equivalent and appropriate course backgrounds will be considered for admission. 
2. Those holding M.S. degrees from other institutions may apply for entry directly to the Ph.D. program. Those holding B.S. degrees usually apply for the M.S. program, though highly qualified applicants with B.S. degrees may request immediate entry to the Ph.D. program. Those admitted to the Ph.D. program should expect to take candidacy exams within one year of entry. 
3. Outstanding applicants are considered for support in the form of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and various fellowships from the Department and the College of Engineering. To be considered for all forms of financial aid, fall applicants should supply all of the requested application items by December 18th (U.S. citizens by January 5th). Those whose first language is not English must submit TSE scores of at least 55 to be considered for teaching assistantships.
4. Non-US citizens who do not receive offers of financial aid will be expected to provide a financial statement verifying a reserve of approximately $36,300. This is required before clearance for the visa will be granted by International Student Services

International Students
Fall Admissions:  The application and all supporting documents must be received by December 18th.  All applications completed after this date will most likely not be reviewed.


Domestic Students
U.S. citizens must supply all application materials no later than six weeks before the beginning of the semester in which they plan to begin graduate studies. To be considered for financial aid for the fall semester, applications must be complete (all documents received) by January 5th.
