Prior to joining Penn State in Fall 2009, Dr. Vishal Monga spent four years at Xerox Research Labs. He has also been a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research and a visiting faculty at the University of Rochester. Dr. Monga founded and established the Information Processing and Algorithms Laboratory (iPAL) at Penn State. Broadly, Dr. Monga’s research centers on signal and image processing with a focus on computationally hard problems. Current research themes in his lab include computational color and imaging, multimedia mining and security, and image classification. Dr. Monga is a member of the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.
