VitaeDr. Aydin's research is in the development and application of polarimetric radar techniques for remote sensing of storms and clouds, and precipitation measurement. This involves modeling and measurement of electromagnetic scattering and propagation in precipitation (rain, hail, snow, ice crystals, etc.) and clouds. Dr. Aydins research interests also include computational electromagnetics, antennas, and microwave systems. Dr. Aydin joined the EE Department at Penn State in 1985. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a member of AMS (American Meteorological Society), AGU (American Geophysical Union), and URSI (International Union of Radio Science) Commission F. He serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing. LinksCommunications and Space Sciences Laboratory (CSSL) |
