RESEARCH INTERESTS

My interests lie in marrying physical systems with the right underlying mathematics. This has led me to pursue several application areas. I’m always willing (though not always available) to investigate new problems esp. on topics listed under “Theory”, so if you feel I can keep company or help in your research endeavors, feel free to drop me a note.

Theory
  • Multi-dimensional and statistical signal processing: lattice theory, detection-estimation theory
  • Applied linear algebra: dimensionality-reduction; signal representation, wavelets
  • Optimization theory, convex analysis
Applications
  • Multimedia security: robust signal hashing; data hiding; signal processing in the presence of adversaries
  • Signal processing for statistical learning: algorithms for multi-dimensional regression and interpolation, genomic signal processing
  • Color image processing: non-separable color transformations, lattice design for color look-up tables
  • Image halftoning: Modeling and analysis of error-diffusion, printer-modeling
