Dave's job responsibilities include:
- Act as the department safety officer
- Maintain semiconductor process and test equipment
- Responsible for the equipment and facilities maintenance in all EE common and individual faculty labs
- Act as a primary interface and liaison for faculty/students to initiate work in the clean room
- Participate in the introductory instruction, and will train users of the lab for research projects and work with EE lab courses using the clean room facility
- Establish and maintain safety policy and safety documentation for demanding and potentially dangerous processing activities
- Supervise and track processing of chemicals and gases from receipt to disposal
- Liaison with Penn State EH&S
- Monitor safety procedures in all EE Semiconductor Labs
- Monitor compressed air pressure, vacuum pressure, and process water temperature and fill for labs
- Repair lab equipment as failures occur
- Teach students operation of equipment
- Responsible for interaction with industry - maintain industry contacts and coordinate interactions
- Serve on campus-wide committees on safety and chemical issues
- Back up to Facilities Coordinator
