Dave's job responsibilities include:

  • Act as the department safety officer
  • Maintain semiconductor process and test equipment
  • Responsible for the equipment and facilities maintenance in all EE common and individual faculty labs
  • Act as a primary interface and liaison for faculty/students to initiate work in the clean room
  • Participate in the introductory instruction, and will train users of the lab for research projects and work with EE lab courses using the clean room facility
  • Establish and maintain safety policy and safety documentation for demanding and potentially dangerous processing activities
  • Supervise and track processing of chemicals and gases from receipt to disposal
  • Liaison with Penn State EH&S
  • Monitor safety procedures in all EE Semiconductor Labs
  • Monitor compressed air pressure, vacuum pressure, and process water temperature and fill for labs
  • Repair lab equipment as failures occur
  • Teach students operation of equipment
  • Responsible for interaction with industry - maintain industry contacts and coordinate interactions
  • Serve on campus-wide committees on safety and chemical issues
  • Back up to Facilities Coordinator
